Allan Gray hosted an Academic Achievement Awards Function to award academic excellence in the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences and to interact with the top academic achievers.

There were 60 students from the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences who accepted the invite to participate. They were asked to submit essays from a set list of topics, and the winners in the three categories (2nd Years, 3rd Years and Honours) were awarded cash prizes.

Business Management student, Vicky Hibbers, won third place in the 4th Years category.

The special guest speaker for the night was Rapelang Rabana, the founder of Rekindle Learning. She gave a very motivational talk to the students, inspiring them to embrace their uniqueness and challenged them to chart their own paths to success.

Allan Gray representatives from the Cape Town office attended the function, as well as representatives from the NMMU Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences. Ms Bomikazi Zeka and Mr Tony Matchaba-Hove represented the School of Management Sciences at the function.
