On 17 and 18 October 2013 Mr Gavin Cook and Prof Gideon Horn attended the Africa Port and Rail Summit which was held in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania.

The main purpose of the summit was to address specific issues relating to the management and improvement of infrastructure requirements of port and railway networks across Africa. These need to result in increased inter-continental trade, as well as attracting major shipping lines and thereby stimulate international trade. Various international speakers, including key government officials responsible for rail and port portfolios from different countries, delivered relevant papers after which panel discussions were held.
