The top 36 students were invited together with two guests each. Staff members from the school also attended the ceremony.
Students received awards honouring them as one of the top 3 students in the 12 different programmes. They also received a gift in addition to their award. There were prizes for the top 3 students overall and a lucky draw. Prizes were sponsored by Andor Construction, REHAB Books and Blacksheep Engineering.
Andor Construction sponsored a tablet and REHAB Books sponsored two tablets. Black Sheep Engineering sponsored a hamper.
The Best Undergraduate Student in the Diploma Stream, the Best Undergraduate Student in the Degree Stream and the Best Student in Postgraduate studies each won a tablet; while the remainder of the students were entered into a lucky draw. The prize for the lucky draw was a hamper valued at R1200.00.
The evening started with a welcoming from Prof Rootman and then two student groups from lecturer, Paul Tai-Hing, presented two group projects completed while studying. Prof Struwig addressed the crowd with her speech after which the awards were handed out.
